But I Have Worked So Hard!

 

Of course, you think you have worked hard and deserve some extras, and perhaps you do – but don’t!  Now is the time to say no and now is the time to give up the extra things you purchase that make you feel good. 

 

Will some of this involve saying no to some of your friends?  Probably, in the sense that you may not be with them to go shopping, to the beach, to the mountains, to Starbucks, etc.  Just let them know you will be “out of commission” for a while until you get your financial house in order. 

 

It is up to you and you alone to decide whether or not your debt is spinning out of control and how you are going to manage it.  Cut up the credit cards and get rid of them.  Out of sight, out of action and out of mind.  This will keep the temptation to spend at a distance.
