Being In Control of Your Finances

Being In Control of Your Finances

Being in control of your finances means a whole lot more than just earning a greater income, having a better job and controlling your money.  It means getting a handle on your bad habits.  These might be habits of bad thought, wrong decisions, wrong choices and bad spending habits.

What is it that is motivating you to take on more debt?  What is driving your desire to spend until you are out of control?  2 Peter 2:19 mentions this, “For a man is a slave to whatever controls him” (TLB).

How we manage our money affects not only our present, but also our future.  It affects how we feel about ourselves and how we react to others.  Many of us find ourselves with dismal spending habits that need to be broken.  The good news is this: regardless of your past, your future is a clean slate.

Recognizing a problem doesn’t always bring a solution, but until we recognize that problem, there can be no solution.  Many times the difference between your accomplishment and your failure is your attitude.  If you have the attitude that you can take control of your finances and you can break bad habits, then I am confident you will.
